Bill Cosby - too much smoke for no fire?
by Simon init seems like the list of people who are accusing him of rape and sexual assault is growing every day.
i'm skeptical of single accusations but the number of people and the similar stories seem overwhelming now.. it's not a conviction but to the court of public opinion ... guilty?.

Ok three comments my hero Alan Ball blew his nose on the corner flag at Hampton Park. ( That is when football was fun) and the Scots were rightfully offended, but in a fun way.

I agree with everything you say Simon. ( But) only if you apply the letter of the law do those less celebrated than ( saville & crosby) protected from false accusations.
I mean isn't the law based on better to allow 99 guilty go free than convict one innocent person?

How can exploration of an image ever be justified?
As i i said on my earlier post ... innocent untill guilty.
In fact i think it's not really fitting for us to judge. ( The media is the media)

Any person who has not had a trial, nor the right to defend themsels in a court of law is innocent.
Isn't that what our legal system is based on?
In contrast to justice i think a good laywer helps. ( but that's another another story)

Is the WTS effectively 'pimping out' sisters?
by Simon ini can't remember the topic with the discussion about the talk where they suggested that sisters should only consider ministerial servants as potential marriage partners but think about the implications more.. are they trying to use the potential affections of sisters to enourage brothers to do more and work harder?.
isn't this a form of 'pimping out' the sisters by limiting their attention to the people contributing to them?.
it seems to cross a line to me but i guess it's not vastly different to "only marry another jw".. what do you think?.

But isn't this is what our entertainment industry is all about. The creation of superficial expectations on men and women that should in truth have no real value on how we judge a persons worth.

Well my thinking with the "O.P" is how easy it is too compromise our own ethical and moral standards for benifit. But to loose something you treasure or love on a principal is well easier said than done....

In truth all girls like a rebel and all parents hope they instead go for the " A" student
